Gluten Free Pie Crust

Let’s keep this short and sweet to get you off your computer and into your kitchen creating your perfect Thanksgiving pie!

This crust has stood the test of time for me. It lends itself well to savory and sweet preparations with just a few minor tweaks. And the secret ingredient may surprise you! Read on to find out how you can create a perfect piecrust that will for even the most discerning foodie!


  • 1 1/4 cup gluten free flour blend
  • 1/2 tsp xanthan Gum (omit if your blend contains this)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 TBSP sugar (omit if making a savory dish)
  • 6 TBSP butter or DF Substitute… VERY cold and cut into 6 pieces
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp cold orange juice

Step 1: Mix flour, xanthan Gum, salt, and sugar in mixing bowl.

Step 2: Add 6 TBSP of butter, one TBSP at a time…it should have a coarse texture.

Step 3. Add 1 egg and the 2 tsps of orange juice and mix until a dough ball forms

Step 4: Press dough between wax paper and Chill in fridge for about 30 minutes before handling.

Step 5: Use per pie recipe! If pre baking, I prick the pie crust in the center and bake I bake at375° for approximately 25 minutes. Happy Baking!
